Privacy policy
Your habits are yours.
Habitat has no account, no server, no analytics and no tracking. This page explains, in plain words, everything the app and this website do with data.
The short version: we don't collect any personal data through Habitat. Your habits, history and reflections stay on your iPhone. We can't see them, and nobody else can through us.
Who we are
Habitat is made by Neon Frenchie LLC ("we", "us"). If you have a question about this policy, email support@neonfrenchie.com.
What the app does with data
- No account. Habitat never asks who you are and has no sign-in.
- Stored on your iPhone. Your worlds, schedules, history, reminders, focus sessions and settings are saved on your device, in a container shared only with Habitat's own widgets and controls. They aren't sent to us or to any server. Like other app data, they can be part of your iPhone's own backup.
- No analytics, tracking or ads. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code and no third-party SDKs. It doesn't use your advertising identifier, and it doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Captain's Log. On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Pro's weekly reflection is written on your iPhone by Apple's on-device model. Nothing is sent anywhere to be summarized. On other devices the app writes it from a template, also on your iPhone.
- Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. They aren't sent through a server.
- Photos. If you save a Lock Screen wallpaper, Habitat asks for permission to add the image to your photo library. It can only add images. It can't read your photos.
- Motion. The sky shifts slightly as you tilt your iPhone, using its motion sensors. The readings are used on the device in the moment and never stored or sent.
- Siri, Shortcuts and widgets run through Apple's system features on your device, using the same on-device data.
Visits you share
When you use Share my system, Habitat builds a link (or a QR code) that contains a snapshot of your system: each world's look, stage and streak, and its name if you leave Show world names on. It never includes your history, schedules or reminders.
The snapshot lives entirely in the link itself. We don't store it and never receive it. Whoever you send the link to can see what it contains, and the app you send it with (for example Messages or Mail) handles it under its own privacy policy. Visits you keep from friends are stored on your iPhone.
Purchases
Habitat Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles payment and billing, and we never see your payment details or your Apple Account. The app only learns from Apple whether Pro is active on your device. Apple gives developers sales reports that don't identify you.
Crash reports
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash and usage reports. They don't identify you, and we use them only to fix problems.
Your data, your control
- Export everything at any time: Settings → Export your data creates a JSON file you can keep or share.
- Erase everything: Settings → Erase all worlds. Deleting the app also deletes its data.
- Because we don't collect personal data through the app, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side. If you email us, we use your message only to help you, keep it only as long as needed, and delete it when you ask.
Children
Habitat collects no personal data from anyone, including children. It isn't directed to children under 13.
This website
This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts, and it loads nothing from other websites. It is hosted by Vercel, whose servers may keep standard access logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) for a limited time for security and reliability.
Changes to this policy
If what Habitat does with data changes, we'll update this page and its effective date before the change ships, and describe it in the app's release notes.
