Getting started
- Form a world for each habit. Give it a name, a symbol, a biome and a schedule: every day, chosen weekdays, or a number of times a week.
- Tend it. Tap the circle beside a world in Today. An energy beam arcs from your sun to the world, and it plays its own note.
- Perfect Day. Finish everything due today and your star flares.
- Open a world to see its stage, streaks and history, replay its evolution, edit it or archive it.
How worlds grow
Every kept day moves a world through seven stages: Dust & Stone, First Breath, Rainfall, First Life, Living Sky, City Lights and Crowned. Crowned worlds keep raising moons.
Missing days slows a world down and brings dust storms, but it never destroys it. Tend it again and the skies clear.
I forgot to tend yesterday
Open the world and tap a day in its history to mark it as tended (or not). Changes count straight away.
Taking a break from a habit
Archive the world from its options. Archived worlds rest in Habitat's Settings, under Your System, with their history intact, and the days they spend there never count against them. Swipe one there to return it to orbit.
Reminders
Reminders live on each world. Open a world and tap Reminder to pick a time. Each one follows that world's schedule.
From the notification you can choose Tend it or Remind me in 1 hour without opening the app. If reminders don't arrive, check that notifications for Habitat are on in the iPhone Settings app under Notifications → Habitat.
Widgets, controls & Siri
- Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets: touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Habitat. Widgets have buttons to tend a world without opening the app.
- Control Center: add Habitat's controls to tend a world or open the app in one tap.
- Siri and Shortcuts: say something like "Tend Morning run in Habitat."
Focus sessions
Open a world and start a focus session of 5 to 60 minutes. The countdown stays on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you can lock your phone. When it ends, the world is tended for the day.
Visiting friends
Use Share my system to send a link or a QR star chart. When a friend opens it in Habitat, your worlds arrive one by one in their sky. Your friend needs Habitat installed to open a visit.
A visit carries only each world's look, stage and streak, plus names if you leave Show world names on. It never includes your history, schedules or reminders.
Habitat Pro
Habitat is free with up to 3 worlds. Pro adds:
- Unlimited worlds, and 4 rare biomes
- Captain's Log, a weekly reflection written on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence (on supported devices)
- The full Observatory: your weekday rhythm, a year in orbit and milestones
- Lock Screen wallpapers of any world, galaxy themes and alternate app icons
Pro is available monthly, yearly with a 7-day free trial, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency.
Purchases & subscriptions
- Restore Pro on a new or reset iPhone: Settings → Restore purchases in Habitat (also on the Pro screen), signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
- Cancel a subscription with Manage subscription in Habitat's Settings, or in the iPhone Settings app: your name → Subscriptions. To avoid being charged when a free trial ends, cancel at least 24 hours before it does.
- Refunds are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Purchases are made through the App Store under Apple's standard Terms of Use.
Your data
- Where it lives: on your iPhone. There's no Habitat account or sync server.
- Export: Settings → Export your data saves every world and every day as a JSON file.
- Erase: Settings → Erase all worlds. This can't be undone. Deleting the app also deletes its data.
